History of the Establishment Pesantren

Inspiration for the Name and Beginning of Pesantren At-Tajdid
The name “At-Tajdid” was inspired by one of the terms of the movement in Muhammadiyah, renewal, purification and return of human thought to the true Islam. At-Tajdid was founded by the Muhammadiyah Branch Leadership (PCM) Singaparna, Tasikmalaya Regency, the idea began in 1994. The Chairman of PCM Singaparna for the 1991-1995 period, Mr. H. Oyon Sumaryono, was moved by the mandate of the Muhammadiyah Congress in Banda Aceh. This idea received support from the Aisyiyah Branch Leadership (PCA) Singaparna, with the spirit of “Nashrun Minallahi Wa Fathun Qariib”, PCM and PCA Singaparna realized their ideals of establishing a modern Islamic Boarding School.

The Development of Pesantren At-Tajdid and Its Contribution
Finally, in 1999, coinciding with the change of the New Order era to Reformation, Pesantren At-Tajdid was established. The waqf land from Rd. Wiradimadja became the place where the facilities and infrastructure of the Islamic Boarding School were built. At-Tajdid has formal schools at junior high and senior high school levels. The Islamic Boarding School is under the Ministry of Religion while the School is under the Department of Education. Along with the increasing number of students, the management of At-Tajdid finally changed hands from the Muhammadiyah Singaparna Branch Leadership to the Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership of Tasikmalaya Regency. Pesantren At-Tajdid has a vision of "Producing a Superior Generation with Ulul Albab Character".
